Princess Daisy at the Beach

Oh, and that green plumber guy too.

A tiny sketch from a couple of years back. I've talked previously of my preference for Daisy as far as video game princesses go. I don't think I've drawn her since this doodle, but she's still my favorite.

Bullet Bill Cap

Your welcome, Nintendo.

A couple of drawings I made in my pocket sketch book after my second cousin Nicholas (the same one I made that Super Mario Bros. illustration for) came up with a rather cool idea for a Mario power-up. While playing with some little Mario toys that I wish I had, he put a Bullet Bill on top of Luigi's head and said, "Look, a Bullet Bill cap!" Would that not be an awesome thing to have in an actual Mario game? It could be like the jet power-up from Wario Land.

Seriously, Nintendo, just send us a check already.

Super Mario Bros.

Guest appearance by Yoshi.

Here's the final image of the Mario Bros. pic I made as a gift for my little second cousin. You all know about Mario Bros., so there's not much to talk about.

OH, I can talk about the Yoshi, which wasn't in the sketch. My cousin (the second cousin's mom) asked if I could throw him in there but I didn't have much room left. So he became a tiny Yoshi in the background coming out of the pipe. Seems weird to do that, especially with a Piranha Plant right next to him that isn't coming out of a pipe, but whatever.

Long, climbable Piranha Plants can come out of blocks, you know.

Super Mario Bros. sketch

He's after dat cheddar... coin... monetary unit...

I got a commission from my cousin to make a Mario Bros. drawing for her son, who currently is in non-stop Super Mario mode. All he ever talks about is New Super Mario Bros. and how you gotta beat Petey Piranha as Mini Mario to unlock World 7. And I personally hope he never gets tired of it.

So anyway, here's the sketch of the composition. I've already put this in Photoshop and got the background done, but that would be a bit of a bore to show without the characters in it. So you hafta wait until it's all done before you get to see it.

Warhol's Mario

Perhaps screen prints of E Tanks with varying palettes would of been more appropriate.

Here's an Advance Painting project that I did really quick during the Thanksgiving break of that semester when I felt that I should be doing something rather than sleeping off my Itis. It's was done on a rather small canvas and I didn't have much paint on hand, so I had to apply carefully and thinly. It worked out okay in the end, and my teachers and classmates thought it was interesting. Some thought it was some sort of commentary on different races, but really the different colors of the Marios are based on the palettes he flashes through when you get a Starman in the original Super Mario Bros. (They aren't exact, so please waste your time telling me im doin it wrong.)

As for the idea, I just thought it'd be cool to see what Andy Warhol might make had he still been alive to do work on current icons of pop culture.

Here's some shots of the individual Marios:

Hot Daisy

Well, hotter than usual, anyway.

Well, I'm now screwed for life. I've have stepped into the boundaries of perversion. God help me.

Within the context of the games she appears in, I like Princess Daisy more than Princess Peach. Don't get me wrong, no one can replace Peach as the damsel in distress and occasional playable heroine bent on revenge for the numerous kidnappings, but in all the Mario sport and party spin-offs, Daisy's a more likable character to me. More of a tomboy, not as prissy.

I also think she's cuter. I like her shorts.

Ahem.

Back to being a pervert. Now that I've done this and gotten away with it, I fear I'll become too comfortable doing this kinda stuff and become one of those hentai artists that have nothing better to do than stay in their houses 24/7 and draw characters not of their own creation in sexual poses while secretly pining to have them, knowing full well they can't, cuz they're, like, not real.

The below sketch illustrates this:

I mean, I already "secretly" pine for EVE. So I'm doomed.
